I am Professor of Romance Philology at LMU Munich. My research and teaching focus on modern and contemporary Latin American, French, and Spanish literature and film.

My scholarly work has received several awards, including the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize of the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Kurt Ringger Prize of the Mainz Academy of Sciences and Literature.

I also write about literature, theatre, and culture for various media outlets and work as a literary translator and editor of Latin American literature.
